This is my exceptional mono fire deck! The goal of this list is to put early pressure on the opponent with efficient minions, eke out card advantage where we can, and hopefully land a killing blow with a lucky burn spell.

We are aiming for a consistent and efficient early game. That is why the curve is low and does not include a lot of big finishers like [[Panorama Manticore]]. That is also why we are sticking with one element and not running Steam Druid. A big benefit of being mono fire is we get to run fun utility lands for extra value!

[[Town]]: early ramp, a lot of the minions are exceptional and town will smooth out your early game.
[[Sinkhole]]: Removes problems like [[Pebbled Paths]] or [[Perilous Bridge]].
[[Wizards Den]]: Free card advantage-ish!!
[[Rift Valley]]: Sometimes deals with problematic sites, sometimes a free movement spell.

7 to 8 colorless sites seems to be the sweet spot if you consistently want to get (F)(F) early.

Mulligans

Spells:

Mulligan all magic spells (except [[Pact with the devil]]... maybe), we want minions for early pressure.
Mulligan any finishers namely [[Rebecks]] & [[Boudicca]].
Remember what magic and finishers you mulligan, as they will not be outs later!!
Always keep [[Torshammer Trinket]].
Always keep [[Jihad]].
Don't clog your opening spells with lots of 4 drops if you don't have [[Town]].

Sites:

If your hand has a good curve of minions you can be very aggressive with Site.

If you are playing against control or earth dig for [[Sinkhole]] or [[smokestacks]].
[[River of Flame]] is one of the few answers to [[Root Spider]].
If your not playing against [[Archimago]] you can mulligan [[Funeral Pyre]].
If your not playing against [[Druid]] you can mulligan [[Arid Desert]].
[[Forge]] is strong in your opening hand, but you only need 1.
If your opening hand is 3 (F)sites mulligan 1 or 2 unimportant ones in hopes of Hitting [[Town]] or [[Sinkhole]].
[[Town]] is super strong in your opening.
Always mulligan [[Wizard Den]].
Its often poor to keep both [[Town]] and [[Sinkhole]], you will need (F)(F) early, use best judgment.

Game Play

Don't be afraid to play a [[Vile Imp]] or [[ Clamor of Harpies]] for no value. Its okay if [[Quarrelsome Kolbolds]] has to hit your [[Druid]] for 2, there is value in keeping up tempo and keeping your opponent under pressure. In that vain sometimes its okay to throw a [[Minor Explosion]] at the opposing avatar in the name of mana efficiency. Keep the games short and limit your opponents options. While the deck can play the value / control game (and sometimes you have to), we will often lose the late / long game.

It is usually correct to draw from your spell book. Only draw from your atlas if you can not make a play or REALLY need to double spell in a turn.

You can be pretty aggressive moving and attacking with your Avatar. You can double spell most the deck with 6 or 7 sites, so don't be afraid to skip a site draw or placement if you can get good value off it. Don't flip [[Druid]] unless it buys you a turn preventing a killing blow. Most of the time Tawny is more valuable.

Notes from Baltimore:

[[Blaze]] under preformed. Low impact and bad against a flipped [[Druid]].
[[Clamor of Harpies]] plays well with [[Jihad]].
[[Clamor of Harpies]] teleport ability is mandatory, meaning you must move your tawny if there are no other legal targets.
[[Hillock Basilisk]] was amazing, and will 100% of the time cause a judge to be called.
[[Peasant Revolt]] was under whelming, buuuttttt seems important. (could be sooo good)
Super weak to an early [[ring of morrigan]] may want to run [[Shatter strike]].
The Atlas was great, all the utility site did work! And was never short on threshold!
[[Town]] is an MVP, can't stress this enough
this deck crushes other [[Druid]] decks especially steam :-)
using [[Clamor of Harpies]] to teleport a [[War Horse]] carrying a [[Siege Giant]], then having the [[Siege Giant]] throw the [[War Horse]] along with himself is my dream.
I had so much fun, and everyone I played against was so nice <3

Wanted to get a 2nd copy of [[Hillock Basilisk]] in, [[Rebecks]] was okay but coasting 5 and dying to [[Peasant Revolt]] seemed like a fine cut. [[Blaze]] underwhelmed just added another [[Minor Explosion]] because Druid is everywhere.

Notes from Blue Moon:

[[Hillock Basilisk]] continues to impress. profitably trading into another 3 power minion is great. or killing a 5 power minion with a lil [[vile imp]] help. Continues his streak of judges being being called 2 for 2.
[[Peasant Revolt]] actually blew up 3 sites in the finals against Steam Druid and is a nice safety blanket to have against a lot of top end minions and [[Drums of Doom]]. (it was sooo good!)
[[Archimago]] was banned for this event so I cut [[Funeral Pyre]] for [[Poisoned Well]].
[[Monstrous Lion]] is becoming a little situational, I usually just use him as removal, its weird throwing him down just to chase an avatar. may cut one and add [[Rebecks]] back in I seldom double spell on 4 anyway. Honestly [[Monstrous Lion]] and [[Hillock Basilisk]] kind of fill the same role I could totally see making that swap.
With so many Steam Druids running around [[Rift Valley]] hasn't been super useful, but Idk what site I would add in it place.
[[Vile Imp]] is the unsung hero of this deck just a beauty, so good lol
Played both my team mates in rounds 1 and 2, SO SORRY!!
The event was a blast, Met some cool people! (had a fun draft afterwards)
Still did not get to live the dream :(
